Notes To My Younger Self 💃🏽

The picture on the left was taken 15 years ago! It feels like a lifetime has gone by. This picture brings back memories both good and bad. I have definitely come a long way and learned many valuable life lessons. 

I had some time to reflect on my life and I’ve compiled a list of lessons learned in the last 15 years. In retrospect, I would have done so many things differently. But life is about learning from mistakes, moving forward, striving to make better decisions and striving to become a better version of yourself. 

Hindsight is always 20/20 but every now and then it’s good to look back and take inentory   over your life to put things into perspective. I’m grateful for this journey and proud of the person I’ve becme. 💪🏽👌🏽✊🏽

I’m happy to share the valuable lessons I’ve learned  along the way. 


Notes  to my younger self👇🏽:

- Stop procrastinating! You will accomplish your goals sooner in life if you stay focused. 
- Time is precious and goes by fast. So don’t waste it.
- Be present in life. Live life in the moment and enjoy every phase of the journey. Every    phase has its purpose. 
- Enjoy the life you have. 
- “Humble thyself”
- Value every job/position you have no matter how small. 
- Do not take anything or anyone for granted. 
- Everything happens for a reason and somethings are only for a season. 
- Don’t be so hard on yourself about age. Each year of life is a blessing and should to be celebrated
- Believe in yourself and spend more time working on yourself. 
- Spend more time cultivating your dreams 
- Don’t be caught up in the world but get caught up in the Word 
- Seek your Father in heaven for guidance, wisdom and peace. 
- Don’t seek others for validation 
- “Your value does not increase or decrease based on what others might say or think about you. Your value comes from the ingredients GOD used to make and save you”. 
- Be happy with who you are. You are special. You are GOD’s masterpiece

WOW its been a while since I posted! Way too long!

I took a long HIATUS and now I'm back! I've been away on a long (extended) journey of growth and self discovery. During my time here in the Atlanta area I've been through some storms trials and tribulations but it has all been purposeful. This journey has brought me closer to the LORD. My spiritual life is where I've seen the most growth. What has helped me along this journey is finding a solid church home. I found a wonderful church in the Atlanta area named Elizabeth Baptist Church and it has been life changing. And as a bonus I sing on the praise team and I'm no longer scared to death sing in front of people!! (This has been a crippling problem for me. It stopped my from pursuing so many of my dreams)  I'm not where I used to be and I'm so happy and grateful for that!Another great accomplishment is that I don't depend heavily on the approval and the validation of others.  My identity is no longer determined by my outward appearance and fancy clothes
